Kicking and looking vs. not looking pregnant

Nearly 21 weeks

Last night while resting my hand on my abdomen, I felt two kicks so strong and distinct that they made me gasp. It was when I was winding down to fall asleep so I grabbed Chris's hand hoping for more. Of course, it stopped at least until both of us tired of waiting. Regardless, it was so wild to feel it from the outside and inside.

I proceeded to dream of a baby who I was attempting to swaddle, much to their dismay. It "baby hulked" its way out of the swaddle every time I tried to wrap it up. Very cute and funny! It felt really real, too.

Every time I think I am starting to look pregnant, onlookers (family, friends, and acquaintances) inform me I do not. I guess I am not used to seeing a thicker-for-me middle so it seems so obvious from my vantage point. But there is plenty of time left for me to "look" pregnant. In the meanwhile, I will enjoy that I can still go to the gym and feel ease in my continued mobility.

Outfit details:
Kate Spade rosette top (from the Kate Spade Outlet)
Max Studio skirt (from Marshalls)

  1. I got a lot of that with Wren's pregnancy: thinking I was showing and other people looking at me cross-eyed. I dunno though, I def see a wee bump on you. However, I would obviously not assume you were pregnant if you were a stranger, if you know what I mean.

    1. Yeah I feel like I've popped since I took these but I feel like that every day. haha I guess I would never assume anyone was pregnant either, if I was looking at a stranger. Bodies are so different and everyone carries weight differently.

    3. I am having an exceptionally terrible body image day after a series of bad body image days so I deeply appreciate your kind compliment.

  2. I love your maxi skirt! Is it from Anthropologie?

    1. Thank you! It is not. It evokes the column dresses for sure but I got it at Marshalls. It's by "Max Studio" and was priced at $24.95. They had them in a few colors too! I wrote about the column style pieces at TJ Maxx and Marshalls here: http://consumerconsumed.blogspot.com/2012/07/bargain-alert-for-lovers-of-bailey-44.html

    2. I really love it - and it looks perfect paired with the orange tank! Gorgeous outfit. I have wanted a column dress for awhile, but haven't been able to justify the $$$. Perhaps I'll make a trip to the Waterfront and see if I can find it. Thanks for the info!

    3. The waterfront was where I saw and purchased the above. They had other color combos (navy with white, black with ivory, etc.) but this was a few weeks back. They had a lot at the time so hopefully they still will! Definitely check both TJ Maxx and Marshalls since they're only a few storefronts apart. Good luck!
